Can we all just take a minute to appreciate our brains?
Without it, we would not be here. The human race would not be anywhere near as developed as we are now. Without the brain, the pituitary gland wouldn’t have given our early ancestors the sexual drive that lead to their offspring which eventually lead to us. The impulse for our ancestors to stay alive wouldn’t have been around if it wasn’t for the limbic brain. We wouldn’t be able to laugh, dance, sing or even love if it wasn’t for the cortex. And if one tiny, minuscule thing is out of line, the functioning of a person is changed drastically. Their personality can be different, they could have autism or schizophrenia, not have sight or feeling in their left hand. They may only be able to draw the left half of pictures, only count even numbers and not even recognize odd numbers and worse they could lose all function of their body. The brain is a mighty powerful thing. It runs all of our organs and distributes all of our hormones. Although it does all of our thinking, it typically isn’t something we spend most of our time thinking about. It’s curves and nerves and odd spongy appearance is even more fascinating. Just look at it. Take it all in. That right there is making me type, making me see, helping me live. That thing right there.
