Mom just got back from surgery. She was diagnosed with parathyroid cancer in October and had the tumor removed today. Everything has gone well so far, we are just waiting to hear back about the test results. Seeing her like this is painful. It makes me realize how old she really is and how precious life is. I feel really guilty cause I know I take life for granted and even worse, I take her for granted. I’m glad I have this break right now. As much as I don’t want to admit it, every time I come home she seems more fragile than before. I love my mom with all my heart. Her spirit is amazing and although she may get on my nerves like most parents do, she’s my mom and I can’t imagine a life without her.
